Truth or Lie? Anne taught medical students how to remove the brain from a cadaver.
TRUE.
Once upon a time, Anne was a graduate student in Anthropology. One of her classes was Gross Anatomy. Graduate students who both loved and did well in this class were often recruited to TA the class the following year. This involved assisting first year medical students with their cadaver dissections. One of the more memorable dissections was the cutting of the skull cap and the removal of the brain for further study.
*All cadavers were generous donations of the individual who willed their body to the school before their deaths in order to help educate today’s physicians. The dissection laboratory was designated a ‘cemetery’ and all bodies were treated with extreme respect.
